Headingsensor
Thealignmentofthemotionsensorandtheheadingsensormustbeadjustedsothatthey
providezerovaluesforpitch,rollandheadingwiththevessellyingstillwithnormal
trimandatrueNorthheading.Itisrecommendedthatthistakesplaceinthedrydock.
Alternatively,theoffsetsfromzeromustbedetermined.Thisiseasiesttodowiththe
vesselberthed.Followtheproceduresintheapplicablesensormanuals.
Note
Theheadingsensormustbealignedwiththevesselcentreline.
Measurementaccuracy
Therequiredmeasurementaccuraciesgivenbelowhavebeendeterminedfrom
considerationsonhowtheycontributetototalsystemaccuracy.Anyerrorsinthese
measurementsshallnotsignicantlycontributetodepthorpositionerrorsinthe
soundings.
Themotionsensormustbealigned(setup).Theindicatedrollandpitchanglesfromthe
sensorwhenthevesselhasanormaltrim(i.e.thecoordinatesystem’shorizontalplaneis
horizontal)mustbelessthan±0.055°forbothrollandpitch.
Note
Thegivenaccuraciesaremaximumvalues,andifeasilyachievable,betteraccuracies
shouldbeobtained.
